No Gym Required!
”You do not need fancy or expensive equipment to achieve physical fitness,” says Queensland Academy of Fitness graduate, James Rutherford. James embraces the environment and uses what is at hand as his ‘gym equipment’. Stairs, goal posts, wooden park barriers, tractor tyres, tables, monkey bars and boxing pads are all utilised and lead to a personal training session that is exciting, productive and above all fun.
James has a unique style and believes our bodies are capable of much more than we realize. “ The self confidence of my clients just soars as they learn to pull their own body weight up to a chin up bar, box like their life depended on it, perform consecutive push ups and learn to take control of their own body”. At the completion of each session the client feels exhausted but satisfied that the workout has been demanding and challenging.
With a background in the Australian army and several years of martial arts training, James not only trains his clients to be physically fit but to also harness their mental strength to breakthrough challenges such as the same exercise for hundreds of repetitions. “There is something very inspiring to see someone conquer what they thought would have been impossible.”
James fits his love of physical activity around a family life with his lovely wife Sasha, and three young children. James used the Queensland Academy of Fitness to complete his Personal Trainer qualification and the Academy’s flexible approach allowed him to successfully combine family life, work and study.
